SWTOR Breaks Down Set Bonuses and Tacticals For Mercenaries and Commandos; Onslaught Goes Into Final PTS Testing

Set bonuses for Mercenaries and Commandos in SWTOR have been outlined. Additionally, Onslaught heads into the final round of PTS testing. Let’s take a look.

First up, Mercenaries and Commandos. Quite a lot of changes regarding abilities, set bonuses, and tactical items are set to hit, according to the official news post,

“The upcoming ‘Onslaught’ Expansion will introduce a lot of changes for each Class, including new abilities, Set Bonuses, and Tactical items. To help explain everything, we’re releasing a series of articles featuring each Advanced Class’s new ability, as well as new Set Bonuses and Tactical items. We will also describe various combat scenarios to show how these changes will mesh together, just like in our previous article covering Assassins and Shadows. In today’s article we’re showcasing the Mercenary and Commando Advanced Classes!”

For example, set bonuses for the Mercenaries include:

Set Bonus: "Tech Medic"

(2 Piece Bonus) +2% Mastery (4 Piece Bonus) Onboard AED becomes an instant-cast. (6 Piece Bonus) Chaff Flare heals all allies around you.

Set Bonus:Notorious

(2 Piece Bonus) +2% Power (4 Piece Bonus) Power Surge grants Precision Targeting, increasing armor penetration by 10% for 6 seconds. This effect cannot occur more than once a minute. (6 Piece Bonus) Power Surge gets an additional charge

Set Bonus: "Concentrated Fire"

(2 Piece Bonus) +2% Critical Rating (4 Piece Bonus) Gaining a stack of Supercharge increases your critical chance by 10% for 10 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 10 seconds. (6 Piece Bonus) Doing damage or healing an ally has a 5% chance to build a Supercharge. Can only happen once per 3 seconds.

Commandos of course get their own bonuses, including:

Set Bonus: "Tech Medic"

(2 Piece Bonus) +2% Mastery (4 Piece Bonus) Emergency Medical Probe becomes an instant-cast. (6 Piece Bonus) Diversion heals all allies around you.

Set Bonus:Notorious

Additionally, Onslaught goes into its final phase of testing on PTS. Here’s what’s available:

  • The full process of loot acquisition has been implemented across the entire game. This includes an overall increase of loot gained, Discipline/Rating targeting for gear drops, Set Bonuses, Tacticals, Amplifiers, the gear deconstruction system, and several gear vendors.
  • The upcoming Dxun Operation open for testing! If you would like to see what dangers await you in Dxun's jungles, head to Odessen. There, your adventure will begin with an ominous bridge leading into the sky. Dxun is accessible on Story Mode and Veteran difficulty.
  • Onderon is open for you to explore! The storyline isn’t playable, but the Daily Missions are.

Of course, rewards are on hand in the form of achievements by completing group activities. Completing these achievements nets you:

  • Complete the first PTS achievement - The Strike Team Specialist and Strike Team Commander Character Titles.
  • Complete the second PTS achievement - The new Kai Zykken MK-85 Test Log Mount. Warning - Mount may move at the speed of an actual log.
