Mac compatibility is on the way, as is plenty more from Star Wars: The Old Republic. In a semi-regular letter from Keith Kanneg, Executive Producer of SWTOR, he announced the upcoming 7.6 content will start seeing previews more, plus that a native Mac client is on the horizon.
According to the letter, the SWTOR team has been working on a native Mac launcher and client that’ll see more expansive testing in the coming weeks. Players will be able to use the new clients with their old data.
“We have been doing extensive internal testing for some time now on late model Mac computers and we are getting close to being ready to roll out that testing externally soon,” the letter explains. Keep your eyes peeled to the forums in the next couple weeks as we will be posting more details on the technical requirements and testing plans for exactly how everything will work.”
Besides this, the letter reviews the sweeping changes that came with 7.5, including Galactic Seasons 7, Date Nights and Twitch Drops, and reminds players that the Master the Fight: Firebolt Edition bundle is only on sale until the 23rd. Of course, there’s just a bit of a tease of what’s to come.
It seems Game Update 7.6 will be called “Galactic Threads,” and they’ll be a lot more involved in previewing than ever, as “this update is jam packed.” There’ll be a video in mid-October with the new content type teased already, plus the Lair Boss. Then, in late November, there’ll be the full 7.6 dev livestream that gives more full details on what’s to come.
The well-loved Star Wars last saw a major content update with 7.5.1 back in August.
