The World of Warcraft team has unveiled just about everything a determined adventurer (or world-saving hero!) needs to know before making the voyage to Argus, home of the Burning Legion and currently under siege by the Army of Light. The Shadows of Argus v7.3 update goes live next week, so it's a good chance to BE PREPARED (unlike the leader of the Demon Hunters who shall remain nameless).
First off the bat, is Blizzard's "Surviving Argus" video overview that provides players with a bird's eye view of what to expect:
Next up, devs provided a lore piece and first information about The Campaign for Argus. For those who may not know, Argus was once the homeworld of the Draenei and is now "home" to the Army of Light led by Turalyon and Alleria.
The Argus campaign will roll out over three weeks:
- Week 1 - Players arrive on Argus, meet up with the Army of Light and begin the push forward. New World Quests and Emissaries will unlock as well.
- Week 2 - The Krokuun storyline wraps up and players move to a ruined Draenei city. Invasion Point (see below) unlock that allow players to travel to other worlds the Burning Legion is attempting to destroy. New World Quests also unlock.
- Week 3 - The story comes to its conclusion, more World quests unlock and the Seat of the Triumvirate dungeon unlocks as well as the Netherlight Crucible that allows Relic reforging.
There is also a more detailed article about Invasion Points that provides information about how players are trying to stop the Burning Legion across more than a few planets:
- Tier 1 Invasion Points will allow anywhere from 3–10 players within the instance. While you can enter alone, you’ll ideally want to recruit at least two other friends to join you in order to complete the scenario.
- Tier 2 Invasion Points or Greater Invasion Points, will require a raid to bring down the boss within, but with greater risk, also comes greater reward.
