The superhero MMORPG Ship of Heroes has announced a full launch window of Q2 2025, with an accompanying game trailer showing off the combat and world.
“Many parts of the game are working and integrated and launch-ready now, so we’re fairly confident about this date,” the Steam blog post reads. “Right now, we’re fixing bugs and filling in the last gaps, which should take 4-6 months.”
While the official release is now on the horizon, Ship of Heroes has been seeing occasional playtests as recently as this fall, with updates to make fixes and changes along the way.
The new MMORPG is PvE-focused, in a futuristic universe where humans and certain aliens live together in a mixed world of magic and technology. With it being an MMORPG, there’s always some kind of danger lurking, and players take up the role of a classic superhero to quash it out.
Ship of Heroes touts five archetypes, over 250 powers to tap into, and powerful enemies to battle. There’s also day-one solo and “supergroup” housing, with zero cash shop—just a purchase and subscription.
The trailer for the release date announcement shows off the gameplay at length (though there’s a bit of a bizarre soundtrack loop in the middle).
