Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League developer Rocksteady has been hit with layoffs following the title’s poor performance since its release earlier this year.

According to a report at Eurogamer, the studio’s QA department has been cut from 33 to 15 as a result of a restructuring made over the past month connected to the game’s disappointing sales.

One team member outside of QA even took to social media to announce he’d been let go in the middle of his paternity leave.

The report also suggests that internally the team is recognizing that these layoffs will impact the quality of the studio’s products going forward. The layoffs have impacted mostly junior personnel at the studio, but some of those affected have been at the company for some time now, including members of the team who had been at the studio for over five years.

To make matters worse, rumors have been swirling as of late about Warner Bros. supposed plans to sell off its games division entirely. This would include Rocksteady, the recently acquired Player First Games (developers of MultiVersus), Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios, and even Avalanche Studios, who delivered Warner Bros. the top selling game of 2023 with Hogwarts Legacy, raking in over one billion dollars for WB.
