Star Trek Online’s Refractions update has now landed on console. The update concludes the Terran Gambit story, and features returning Star Trek actors Wil Wheaton and Gates McFadden.

The update includes a new Task Force Operation for five captains, “Bird Cage”. You’ll have to unite in order to break out the Mirror Universe version of Beverly Crusher. She may be the key to stopping her son, Terran Emperor Wesley Crusher, who has joined himself with The Other and is heading to destroy the Federation capitol.

The Other is the Mirror version of V’ger, one of the most notable lifeforms, but as with other Mirror versions, this one’s extreme power and unique qualities make it dangerous. Moreso, of course, when the Terran Emperor is now united with it.

The new story episode, “Fujiwhara Effect”, will find Emperor Crusher and The Other on Earth, beginning a battle to save the planet and the galaxy. This will conclude the overall arc, so the team promises that this story content is a big one.

Other features in the new console update include two new Patrols that are based on previously-released content, Ascension. This content fills in some of the details  from Ascension,  answering some questions and confirming some things that were never addressed before. When the Khonshu was trapped, what happened? Janeway’s Borg drones were cleared from Jupiter Station - how? These and more answers await now that the update is here on Xbox and PlayStation.

The Star Trek Online anniversary is also upon us. The anniversary event, marking the game’s 13th, will let you play through a number of content options in order to earn yourself a T6 Compiler Science Dreadnought inspired by V’Ger. This and previous content from the Terran Gambit arc and more will earn you what you need.

Head to Star Trek Online for more on Refractions, the anniversary, and more.
