Stars Reach hit a new stretch goal in its Kickstarter campaign, unlocking the $750k tier to allow for additional shield types. Playable Worlds has an update about just what those shields will be like and more on what’s next.
Despite the campaign officially ending, it is still possible to pledge support. Last night, the campaign stood at about $743k and is now at around $753k. Its quick success even led to new investment offers. It is clear that momentum continues, and as a result, we get another new feature, and the team thanked the community and said this “put us officially on the road to Early Access”.
As for those shields, there are currently two types in game, Fortress and Reflection shields. The first saves you from a bit of damage, but each save drains the shield capacitor a bit. Reflectors bounce attacks back and have a chance to hit the attacker, again, at a power cost. New shield types coming are Redirect, Absorption, and Phase. All three are detailed in the latest dev update, but you should be able to get an idea from the names.
Playable Worlds promises more development updates as Kickstarter funds process and investment continues.
