The Stars Reach Kickstarter campaign has hit a new stretch goal, hitting the $650,000 mark and unlocking upgraded building systems. The team has also added a few last minute digital goodies as pledge add-ons.

Playable Worlds is sharing how the building system overhaul will introduce even more stuff thanks to the community's support.

The building system in use now uses the Fabricator tile set, made up of basic shapes (“primitives”). Testers have gotten creative, rotating and duplicating them to create new shapes and new ways to build. So, the devs will add even more primitives that you'll have creative control over. Fit and shape them, change their size and customize their color and texture. Instead of the usual MMO modular systems and specific tile sets with maybe a few color options (and maybe dyes), the player creation philosophy extends even further.

Options like 45-degree angles, half-blocks, and more are also possible. Next, they’ll also add a few shapes beyond just blocks. Later, the art team will make detail props, like lights and animated pieces like doors. On the backend, the system will group the primitives you use and your choices in a way that is seamless and still editable. We can also expect blueprints that you can save, and even give–or sell– to other players.

This is just the beginning.

With the Kickstarter closing tomorrow, Playable Worlds announced some final day add-ons: a Robocat in-game companion, a Crash Test Dummy helmet, a new emote, and a Stars Reach digital artbook.
