DLSS (with Frame Generation) and HDR controls are finally coming to Starfield in the game's next update, which will be first made available as part of an opt-in beta test on Steam beginning next week.
Gamers were surprised to learn Starfield would not natively feature DLSS earlier this year when it was revealed that AMD was the game's exclusive PC partner. Since then, modders have taken things into their own hands adding DLSS to the game in an unofficial capacity. This too was not without controversy as one popular modder added DRM to their DLSS 3 mod in an attempt to hamper efforts to acquire it without subscribing to their Patreon.

Hopefully, the official addition of DLSS (and other optimizations) will smooth out the game's performance issues so we can get back to exploring Bethesda's gigantic universe without major dips in frame rate.
