Star Wars: The Old Republic is continuing its character modernization process, bringing some visual updates to the MMORPG. Now, the latest round of improvements are on the Public Test Server, to be followed by Master Mode for Relentless Replication.
This next phase of the modernization updates focuses on two updates in particular. The first is face smoothing for Human, Chiss, Cyborg, Miraluka, Mirialan, Togruta, and Zabrak. Second focus is improvement to neckline seams for player characters. Expect those improvements to come to companions later.
With the face smoothing, it won’t fix the current issues with splotches on brightly colored characters like Chiss or create parity between what you see in the preview window and in game. This is an ongoing process and the team is still working on some of those other issues. For now though, this PTS phase will be open until April 3rd for testiing and feedback.
When it reopens soon afterward, it will be time to test Master Mode for Relentless Replication. This is set to be the hardest difficulty for the Propagator Core XR-53 Operation boss. We don’t know yet what they’re looking for feedback on, but we’ll know more soon.
