It looks like that leaked Star Wars: Squadrons game is indeed real, as confirmed by EA.
The original leak was through Microsoft, as initially reported by Polygon. However, it appears that the information was taken down. EA posted later in the day that, yes, it’s real. They tweeted,
“Pilots Wanted. Tune in for the reveal trailer of #StarWarsSquadrons this Monday, June 15th at 8:00 AM Pacific Time: https://youtu.be/w0eRkhR1z6A”
So there we have it. We’ll have to wait until Monday, June 15 to see the full reveal. They shared a live stream link (embedded below) from which to view the reveal.
While we don’t have any details at this point, speculation points to a space combat game set in the Star Wars universe. Given that the teaser image portray a Rebel pilot and an Imperial pilot, such speculation may not be too far off.
Polygon notes that the developers may be EA Motive who were rumored to be working on a smaller title. AS a reminder, this studio was formally led by Jade Raymond of Assassin’s Creed fame. We’ll have to tune in on Monday, June 15 to check out the full details.
