Will they or won’t they? Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic fans have been on a rollercoaster of emotions trying to figure out if the long awaited KOTOR Remake is still being developed. Six years on we have a new comment from Saber Interactive’s CEO confirming that the project is “alive and well.”
The comments were made by Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch as part of an interview with IGN. Karch explained that Saber took the KOTOR Remake following its split with Embracer Group and that the project is still being actively worked on.
Karch didn’t offer much else besides wanting to reassure fans that the game was being worked on and that Saber fully intends to “exceed consumer expectations” with the remake.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of BioWare’s most iconic RPGs and considered by many fans to be one of the highest quality Star Wars stories ever told. It’s no wonder that interest in the remake is so high.
Unfortunately, as we alluded to earlier, its development has been tumultuous to say the least. The project originally begun at Aspyr and was paused indefinitely after three years of development, then the project was resumed at Saber Interactive. Fans weren’t sure of its fate following Saber’s split from Embracer Group, but are sure to be relieved by this week’s news.
