Star Wars Galaxies lives on through the many private emulated servers that exist out there, and one of the bigger ones, Restoration, is celebrating 2 years in operation.

In a new blog post on the private server's website, the team behind SWG Restoration is looking back on two years of operation. Launching initially on May 28th, 2021, the team touches on what has changed since that initial launch, sharing a nice little infographic of the highlights.

Since the emulated MMO dropped in 2021, more than 45,000 accounts have been created, with more players joining forces with the Empire than the Rebellion. There have been 39,766 PvP kills in the Galactic Civil War, with the highest lifetime PvP kill total sitting at 1842.

The team behind SWG Restoration is also taking a look ahead at what's coming in the rest of 2023, with outreach strategies to build the community, from publishing more "community written content" to dev diaries to keep players abreast of what's going on behind the scenes.

The team is also looking to build on the momentum of its content releases in 2023, stating that this is a "major priority" for 2023.

"Releasing content has been a major priority for Restoration in 2023. Developers heard the Community and have spent a significant amount of time focusing on releasing Mustafar instances as well as adding senate-prioritized content add-ons, like the upcoming title vendor and Bestine Humanities Society Menagire, a new private club that will allow the community to bid on original artwork."

The team is also testing the Jedi, stating that after focusing on building "a quality foundation for the game," they have been able to turn the corner and eye the release of the long-awaited path.

"Developers have been working on Phase III of the Force Sensitive path, which entails recreation of the entire Village. We are aiming to update every single Force Sensitive quest into the NGE’s quest system, which in many cases means starting over from scratch. We are also working on our own prelude and prologue quests that better tie it into the custom Jedi storyline developed for SWG Restoration."
