Star Wars Battlefront II Blog Reveals 75% Reduction in Top Hero Credit Costs

Star Wars Battlefront II Executive Producer John Wasilczyk has posted a new blog to address concerns raised earlier today about what many players felt were exorbitant prices to unlock top heroes. As a recap, each hero was priced at 60,000 credits, currency earned at about 50 Credits per match. In response to the outpouring of frustration by the community (and netting EA the "most downvoted Reddit post ever" honor), prices to unlock heroes have been reduced by 75%.

The team used data from the Play First Trial to set the pricing to unlock heroes. However, according to Wasilczykt, "it's clear that more changes are needed. We're reducing the amount of credits needed to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 Credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca and Leia Organa for 10,000 Credits and Iden at 5,000 Credits. Based on what we've seen in the Trial, this amount will make earning these heroes and achievement, but one that will be accessible for all players."

According to the post, the change will become effective immediately with an update that is being loaded into the Play First Trial and into the full game when it is launched later this week.

Lastly, the forthcoming DLC called Resurrection will bring three new chapters in Iden's story and starts immediately after the main story line epilogue. "Iden is on a quest to search for her missing husband when she stumbles across a First Order conspiracy that crosses paths with both Star Wars The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi film timelines".
