Star Trek Online's 32nd season, Unparalleled, launches on May 28th, with Star Trek: The Next Generation's Denise Crosby reprising her role as the half-Romulan, half-human Sela.
The free-to-play MMORPG will bring the next major season update to Star Trek Online first to PCs on May 28th, with PlayStation and Xbox consoles to follow on June 19th. The update brings new story content, a new event, a gender and race change feature and more.
Continuing the current Aetherian and Mirror Borg storyline, players will combat the Borg threat alongside the parallel universe's Captain of the Enterprise, Captain Sela. Sela, from The Next Generation, is being played by her original actor, Denise Crosby, who portrayed not just Sela but her mother, Tasha Yar, in the first season of TNG.
The new update brings the new episode, Situation Under Control, the new event, Delete Alt Control, and more. The new Captain Alteration Token will allow players to recreate their character's race and gender, so long as they are part of the Starfleet, the Klingon Defense Force, or the Romulan Republic.
The new season was teased during March's "All Fans All Hands" stream, where Cryptic Studios announced it would be passing over the creation of some of its flagship titles, including Star Trek Online's, content creation moving forward to Deca Games. During that meeting, we learned that Deca is taking over most new content development, with Cryptic playing more of a support role on its titles in the future.
