Star Trek Online released its Heritage Starship Bundle today, bringing ships from the classic Star Trek games to the long-running MMO.

The sci-fi MMO announced the new bundle today, which includes ships from older Star Trek video games, such as Star Trek: InvasionStar Trek: Armada and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Dominion Wars (because one colon wasn't enough). Currently the bundle is only available on PC, but console players can get their hands on the iconic ships starting on August 22nd.

The ships added to the MMO are:

  • “The Typhon” and “Valkyrie Mk II” from Star Trek: Invasion

  • “The Premonition” from Star Trek: Armada

  • “The Achilles” from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Dominion Wars

The new ships bring some character to the MMO, with the Typhoon-class Carrier bringing new gameplay opportunities as well. The ship from Invasion has "re-introduced the class concept fo the 'Escort Carrier,'" according to the accompanying blog post. The ship itself, while smaller than you'd think, devotes a ton of internal space to hangars, making it the perfect launching point for small ships, like fighters, shuttles and more.

Today, we also saw the remastering of two of STO's most beloved science vessels. The Aurora and Quasar got some love today, being completely "redesigned and remodeled" to fit the current look of Star Trek Online. The Aurora is reimagined as a "late 23rd century" science vessel, while the Quasar has been redesigned to fit the aesthetic of the Picard-era ships in the MMO.
