Star Trek Online’s 30th season, Incursion, is on the way to continue last season’s Multiverse arc following the tearing of the Reality Vortex. The story also brings another original Star Trek actor into the game, and conflict with the Borg.
Incursion will be out on PC on September 12th, with release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S on November 1st. Last season, there was a misunderstanding with the Tholians as you worked with Captain Kuumaarke, later making discoveries on the origins of some mysterious vortices and the Reality Vortex. This time, Kuumaarke is back, once again played by Kipleigh Brown. She is joined by Garrett Wang as Captain Harry Kim, a character who originated on Star Trek: Voyager. Kim brings an Astrophysicist, Commander Erin Macdonald, who is played by astrophysicist and aerospace engineer, Erin Macdonald. She is one of Star Trek’s science advisors and also hosts her own YouTube channel.
These new cast members are part of the next chapter, the new episode, Taken By Surprise. There’s a new Reality Vortex, and the Borg take advantage to emerge from this one to threaten to attack Starbase One.
The official description lays out the conflict:
“These Borg are different – stronger, ruthless, and more aggressive. Starfleet must use all their might, along with some unexpected help, to repel the Borg forces.”
Also in Incursions will be a new Task Force Operation. The Borg are attacking Starbase One and you'll have to evacuate personnel. There's another new TFO in this next update, called Guillotine. You'll have to take on the Borg, and close the Reality Vortex before they can launch their full invasion through it.
The Borg Tesseract is the Season 30 event. Play through this event and earn yourself a three-piece Adaptation Ground Set and you may also get to claim a Starfleet Protostar uniform.
Finally, a new T6 ship upgrade expansion will be included, letting you upgrade T6-X to T6-X2, and let you unlock several new slots. Get yourself some extra options with the Starship Trait slot, Universal Console Slot, and Device Slot.
