Star Trek Online is bringing back its big Red Alert event, meaning all Red Alerts are returning to the game for two weeks, starting on New Year's Eve.
Red Alerts are most often run between patches to keep things lively, though with it also being the new year, it’s also a great way to get back into the swing of Star Trek Online after new games might have stolen your attention.
This is similar to the last Red Alert event, where all the Red Alert events returned and are playable throughout so long as you meet the requirements. That means you’ll be able to help out with the Borg, Elachi, Tholian, Tzenkethi, and Nakuhl Red Alert events by queueing up while this is running.
Plus, once again, there’ll be daily bonuses, which apply account-wide regardless of which character. When you get ten of these Daily Progress points, in addition to the Ultimate Tech Upgrade and Specialization Point, this time around you’ll get an Experimental Ship Upgrade. This is also buyable for points in the shop, with a prorated price the more Daily Progress you have.
To join the Red Alert events, you have to be level 50, then open up the queues window for PvE events and find the Red Alert you want to participate in in the list.
This particular Red Alert event is going from December 31 at 8 a.m PST until January 14 at 12 p.m. PST. Generally, these run before a Star Trek Online content patch, so we might be seeing more news from Star Trek Online soon—though we do already know a bit of what's in store after an accidental publishing incident.
