The latest Squadron 42 monthly report from Star Citizen developers Cloud Imperium Games provide an update on story development.
The monthly report itself is quite lengthy and includes updates on combat AI, general AI, ships AI, social AI, animation, character art, environment art, audio, engineering, graphics, level design, QA, tech animation, UI, and visual effects.
The story update includes work that has been done on an introductory chapter. The team explains that the development goal of this is to support code and design so they can blend “scenes via AI locomotion.” Apparently, progress here is looking good. The team is also working with Design to create scenes for Chapters 6, 7, 13, and 18.
Additionally, support for character traits have also begun implementation,
“This functionality exposes the ability of selected traits in the ‘Character Skills and Traits Editor.’ The designers can then assign traits to templates that are then assigned to characters.”
