Star Citizen's Jumptown Returns As Limited Extraction Mission Event

Jump into the drug extraction mission

The era of extractions continues—in Star Citizen this time. A team mission mode based on the Jumptown player saga of Star Citizen has begun for a limited time, letting players take on a raid for a drug package in a new series of combat-friendly maps.

As chronicled by Roberts Space Industries, Jumptown started as a simple, pleasant drug lab in Alpha 3.16 that hordes of tens of thousands of players soon descended upon for a slew of totally innocuous reasons. It wasn’t particularly prompted by RSI itself, but its effects were felt across the player base.

“This clash resulted in a perpetual tug-of-war between far-flung factions and home-grown heroes over control of the outpost,” the post explains. “You never knew what you’d find when approaching Jumptown, which only the most dedicated could locate, since it wasn’t easily pin-pointed on standard-issue maps.”

This time around, there’s more than one team deathmatch-like map, with locations rotating daily at 9:00 a.m. PDT until the end of the event, seemingly until that time on April 16.

For full immersion purposes, Star Citizen players can join as a lawful player or unlawful one. Obviously, you need to be in at least neutral standing with the law with a CrimeStat of zero in order to take up the lawful side. To engage in the criminal side, just make sure you’ve got the currency and the standing with Ruto so he won’t turn you down.

It’s probably a tactical push right now for the SSI team, who are under a more watchful eye after the post-Squadron 42 reorganization and an announcement of a more intentional track to a 1.0 version.

Full details about how to join Jumptown 2.1 are on the official Star Citizen blog about the event
