An annual big spaceship convention of Star Citizen makes its return this year, along with free playtime and joyrides for all interested in the spacebox MMORPG.
Part of Invictus Launch week is that it’s one of Star Citizen’s “Free Fly” events, which lets non-pledgers play and fly around, usually in a basic ship called the Aegis Avenger Titan as a loaner.
Whether or not you previously paid for Star Citizen, you can also give some different ships a fly, which is essentially them advertising their pledge ships. The full Invictus Launch Week schedule will let you know which ships you can take out for a joyride, but it encompasses a huge chunk of Star Citizen’s fleet, including fighter, racer, and industrial ships across the game’s various fictional manufacturers.
The event also includes limited-time learning event, tours of some of the game's biggest ships, and more as listed on the FAQ.
Invictus Launch Week and the corresponding Free Fly event begins May 15 and goes on until May 27. As Star Citizen continues its development, it's a good opportunity to get in and check in on the big question: How’s Star Citizen doing, anyway?
