The newest Star Citizen Monthly Report looked at a bevy of topics including AI, Animation, and more for Alpha 3.9.

The big focus for AI was refactoring the cover system. The team wants to build more consistent cover data. Ship AI was also worked on, primarily addressing bugs and corner cases. Social AI was also looked at.

Animation is working on the visual fidelity side of things, aiming to get a heavier and more weighty feel. Social animation was also worked on for work zones,

“The Social Team focused on creating animations for work zones, which include datapad and multi-tool use. The Facial Team supported eating and drinking and various upcoming PU characters. Mo-cap wise, they burned down the backlog of capture data and improved their toolsets to better streamline future shoots.”

The monthly report also touches on art for environment, art for ships, art for weapons, audio, backend services, characters, characters, community, engineering, gameplay features, vehicle features, graphics, lighting, narrative, player relations, props, QA, and much more.
