The episode touched on service beacons and other social features like the friends list. The team specifically touched on the fact that the list can store up to 800 friend names. The video also specifically touched quantum travel. This should be of interest to those players who want to traverse great distance for the purpose of exploring.
To that end, a scan feature is currently being investigated. The idea behind this feature is to “scan” a location and then warp directly to it. In case you missed it, a recent roadmap update highlighted several changes to the roadmap, with several features moving out of Alpha 3.9. For example, server meshing support are pushed back one quarter to Alpha 4.1.
