A report at Insider Gaming claims that Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games is mandating its development team to work seven days a week in order to make deadlines for this year’s Citizencon on October 19.

The report describes an internal email informing the team that it needs “double down” in the time between now and Citizencon to wrap things up on Star Citizen patch 3.24.2 and work on a Squadron 42 demo to show off Chapter 1.

The email also states that employees must be in office on Friday, October 4 and Friday, October 11 (typically work from days) and weekends including Saturday, October 5 and 12 and Sunday, October 6 and 13. Employees would receive TOIL (time off in lieu) that can be used later on.

Another e-mail sent to Insider Gaming back in July states that CIG pre approved 12 hours a week in TOIL specifically for developers to meet Citizen Con Squadron 42 deadlines.  The time off in lieu isn’t without strings attached, however. Employees will only be able to use the time off after Squadron 42 has officially shipped and must still be employed by the company at this time otherwise it will be forfeited.
