Star Citizen Alpha 4.1, Orbital Assault, Offers New Competitive Opportunities, New Map, & Improved Tech

Star Citizen’s Orbital Assault update, Alpha 4.1, has arrived, adding new gameplay elements, new modes, a new map, and technical updates.

Head to the Stanton system to find a new alien NPC, Wikelo, who is in search of rare minerals. If you can provide them, high-tier loot may be in reach.

A new multi-stage sandbox event, Laser Quest, is here. Battle first in the sands of Daymar, fighting new fauna to make a path to an orbital platform where you will then battle again in a combined arms fight.

There's a new Arena Commander map, “Crossroads of Crime”  with three major bases and competitive opportunities. The new map supports multiple game modes: Free Flight, Elimination, Team Elimination, Gun Rush, Single Weapon Elimination, and Tank Royale. 

The team highlights the expansion of the character creator, with a deeper gene pool that comes from over 60 additional scanned heads to allow  an even deeper character customization experience.  The team took more than a year and a half to update this and make the character creation process more inclusive and offer everyone more options. 

The update also adds a series of quality of life updates and backend optimizations.
