Players eager to hop into The Lord of the Rings Online or Dungeons & Dragons Online but were worried about paying for content during the current climate, Standing Stone Games is here to help.
In a letter to the community, the team behind the two popular MMORPGS announced that much of the content for these two games are free to those who wish to play while you practice your "social distancing."
Here at Standing Stone Games our goal is to bring joy to everyone through our games and we feel that is more important than ever. We are making all our adventures and stories open to everyone through April 30. In addition we will be running extra events for the games.
As such, LotRO and DDO players can dive into all quests - expansions included - from now through April 30th. You'll also find XP boosts in both games, such as a virtue boost starting on March 26th and running through April 6th in LotRO. Additionally, both games are running events during this time, such as DDO's anniversary event and the Baggins' Birthday event in LotRO, both also running from the 26th through April 6th.It's a nice gesture from the company that brings to mind the quote Thorin told Bilbo as he passed after the Battle of the Five Armies:
"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."
