A new trailer for GSC Game World’s hotly anticipated STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl delivers both good and bad news. Since I’m a bad news first kind of guy, the bad news is that STALKER 2 has been delayed (again), but the good news is that the developer has announced a final release date (cross fingers) of September 5, 2024.
GSC came to its decision to delay the game once more due to feedback from fans who played the game at various hands-on opportunities over the past year. The team feels the game is generally in a good place but needs some more “time in the oven” to sort out a number of technical issues.
STALKER 2 was first announced in 2010 and has suffered setbacks over the years due to everything from studio closures to a very understandable pause in development due the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The team even had a number of its members join the war effort and the studio was the target of a cyberattack just last year.
STALKER 2 arrives on September 5, 2024 for the Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
