Space Wars: Interstellar Empires, currently in development by Desert Owl Games, will be ready to blast off into Early Access in December 2016. PC, Mac and Linux users will be able to try out the tactical strategy MMO during PAX this year.
Players join one of four races, each bent on controlling the universe. Completing missions, battles and conquering regions give experience that can unlock ship upgrades and more.
Environment plays a significant role in the success or failure of the faction. Asteroids can hide advancing fleets, Ion Storms will disable shields and many other locations can turn the tide of battle. Captains must pay heed to the galaxy around them to capitalize on their surroundings and avoid being caught off guard.
