Today, the developers at Lucid Sight updated their casual-friendly space MMO Crypto Space Commander (or CSC) to version 1.0, marking its exit from the Steam Early Access program to full release.

“We’re excited to make the vast and thrilling CSC universe available to all gamers on Steam today,” said Fazri Zubair, Lucid Sight co-founder in a press release.. He continued, “Our team set out to take the deep and complex elements of traditional space MMOs and offer a new world with quicker missions to explore, mine, craft, and battle, in an ever-expanding sandbox experience. We’re excited to kick off that experience today.”

To celebrate the development milestone Lucid Sight is expanding upon its Early Access universe with the debut of its Season 1: Expansion Wars content. Along with a new star system being added to the every-growing galaxy map, players will also see new starships arrive in Season 1. And on top of a new set of missions there’s also going to be weeks of in-game events to welcome new players into the galaxy and thank the veteran players for their invaluable help throughout the development process.

We got a sneak peek at CSC a couple of weeks ago. During our preview time we found the combat to be less intense than that found in space simulators, making it more accessible to casual players but still hearty enough to accommodate a hardcore PVP player base. That combat is paired with a deep, uncapped crafting  system that will allow players to become highly sought after specialists. All of this takes place in a galaxy with over 50 star systems split between PVE and PVP, with an additional 300 systems being added over time.

CSC - Star Trek Crossover Event

Anyone who played CSC during Early Access knows that Lucid Sight has a penchant for crossover events. The first CSC crossover event was with an iconic sci-fi IP - Star Trek. The first 5 week event, the Divergence Alpha Event, started on August 29, 2019 with Star Trek ships being sucked into the CSC universe through rifts that had formed in the EQ Pegasi system. A rift reappeared on May 29, 2020, heralding a second crossover - the Star Trek: Picard Event

It should be no surprise that the CSC universe hasn’t seen its last crossover with the Star Trek Universe. So what better time than the official launch of CSC to hold its next crossover - the Star Trek: Discovery event. During the event that starts on launch day, September 3, Lucid Sight will once again auction off one of a kind, officially-licensed Star Trek ships:

  • U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031
  • U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701
  • U.S.S. Shenzhou NCC-1227
  • U.S.S. Yeager NCC-1437
  • Klingon Sarcophagus
  • Klingon Bird-of-Prey

Each collectible is minted on the Ethereum Blockchain with a unique serial number and blockchain entry as proof of authenticity. The ships sold at auction during the previous events for thousands of dollars, so expect to open your Eth wallet if you want one of these collectibles. Like before, there will also be generic versions of the Star Trek ships up for grabs throughout the 6 week event.
