In the latest Soulshorts video, the team took the time to recap the changes coming with the Soulframe Preludes 7 update.
A new major enemy, the Inquisitor Mada, is introduced in Soulframe Preludes 7, seeking a new challenge amongst her pillaging. The gameplay footage shows the player taking on Mada and her followers in a burned-down field, much fitting to the theme. If that quest progresses well enough, the devs recommend the Cloudquell available daily via Verminia.
Further, more combat progression for character weapon leveling was shown off. The leveling choices can be done via the character screen and show a fairly simple but in-depth system, allowing a multitude of upgrades from stagger damage to new combo attacks.
Speaking of combat, there are quite a few changes to the combat systems in general. In addition to five new weapons, all players will have access to Idols and Pacts, which will now let players cast Idol attacks through their Enchanted Bows for long-range flexibility.
The stagger system has also been reworked and worked into the game a lot more mechanically, including some more substantial hit reacts that are worked in a little better this time. There’ll be different types of hits that count towards a stagger, including kicks and hits from certain weapons that can be upgraded to increase that “stagger damage.”
Weapons will also have progression locked behind NPC leveling, bringing some power scaling down a touch.
The Soulshorts video also quickly goes over other changes and potential updates, including hopes for social hubs.
