A new developer Q&A video for Soulframe features updates and questions about the upcoming Preludes 6 play session. This Soulshorts, the first in at least two months, previews a few different things in the pipeline and asks questions to the developers from players.
The devs preview the glamour system, available through one of the Ancestors, though it’s pretty limited for now. Currently, players will only be able to rotate between a few preset outfits with a few colors, but there will be more choices in the future, including for coloring that’s more “modular” like Warframe.
They also previewed and commented on the animations for combat, acknowledging that it’s not perfect at the moment. The team wanted to keep polishing, but they also knew they just had to get anything out, and a good art team knows perfectionism is the enemy of completion, so they hope players are understanding about any “janky” bits.
Then, the developers get into some questions by the community. There’ll be at least one more mandatory reset for players involved in playtests, it turns out, and for those who want to experiment and reset their own character, they’re going to “explore” the option. The new forums launched around the time of this video release, which let players share feedback and more.
Plus, the team is working on long-range magical options, but they won’t likely pop up for Preludes 6—maybe for 7.
There are a few more little tidbits throughout, too, that will likely be interesting to those keeping track of Soulframe’s fuller potential as it ramps up playtests through its Preludes in the coming months.
