The Chronicles of Elyria forum has been updated with a new developer diary to provide fans with a look ahead at 2018. Calling major development goals "adventures", the team will be focusing on Character Customization, Inventory Management and World Interaction.
Character creation will start with each individual's birthday. A variety of things are determined by the actual date including how "celestial bodies play a part in a character's destiny". These entities include comets, asteroids, "planetesimals", moons and other objects floating in the heavens. Other factors determined in character creation include which tribes, each with its own unique characteristics. Lastly, the "Soul Chamber" is in its technical phase of development.
Inventory Management is is in its early phase, but it centered on how players will move items from bag to bag and even how equipment will be swapped:
The world of Chronicles of Elyria is a dangerous one, so you make sure your location is safe before you change equipment. For example: If you want to change your pants but you're wearing greaves, you need to first take off your greaves and then your current pants before donning your new ones. If interrupted before finishing donning your pants but after having removed everything else, your character will be rendered pantless! Yes, pantless.
