Sony's Bend Studio, the developer behind most recently the open-world zombie title Days Gone, has given some more insight into the title they are building, most notably mentioning that it will include multiplayer.
In a post on the PlayStation blog yesterday, Bend's community manager laid out the history and vision for the future of Sony's Bend Studio, recapping the 29-year-old studio's "rich legacy" in the games industry. The team took to the blog to lay out that legacy, from Syphon Filter to Resistance, Uncharted and most recently, Days Gone, as well as start to tease the groundwork for the next title in their library.
"Today, we are excited to share just a snippet of news on our current project. We are currently working on a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone, but brings you a whole new world that we are extremely excited to craft for you. We cannot wait to reveal it to you when the time is right."
Whether or not this multiplayer element will be just one part of the upcoming game, or the main focus as Sony positions itself to build more live service games remains to be seen. Sony is doubling down on live services, specifically as they shelled out a couple billion dollars for Destiny 2 developer and Halo creator Bungie earlier this year.
