The previously postponed PS5 event is now confirmed for June 11.
If you recall, PlayStation’s “The Future of Gaming” event was originally scheduled for June 4. However, due to current events, Sony postponed the event to an then-yet unannounced date and time,
“We have decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4.
While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard."
Today, we have confirmation that the event is scheduled for June 11 at 1p PDT / 4p ET. Sony even provides us the maximum streaming quality of the event, set for 1080p at 30fps,
“Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show’s production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.”
Sony also suggests watching the event with headphones due to “cool audio work.” Sony is expected to showcase games for the upcoming PS5, though we do not know whether or not the physical console will be revealed at this time.
