One of the developers of Old School Runescape announced a special in-game event being planned that would celebrate #Pride2017 in honor of the LGBT community. After his post was made on Twitter, the Old School Runescape Reddit exploded with multiple threads and pages from some players taking umbrage at the idea.

It's an honour to announce a small holiday event of mine will be coming to @OldSchoolRS this Thursday to celebrate #Pride2017 pic.twitter.com/7C9ECF42b3

Not all players are offended by the inclusion of the event in game, but the overwhelming majority of the posts on Reddit seem to have been written by players who are concerned with its addition believing it espouses a "political agenda".

OSRS has been the host of many in-game events for causes including mental health, animal protection and efforts to stop online bullying.

You can see the reaction for yourself by visiting Mod Wolf's Twitter linked above or the Old School Runescape Reddit.
