Tomorrow, Lost Ark’s July update, “Cool Retreat” will introduce solo mode for dungeons and raids, progression events, new Extra Endgame Rewards event, and the return of the Maharaka Festival.
Lost Ark is well known for its raid content, and now, even if you play solo, you can get a taste of completing endgame content like those large scale raids and dungeons. In addition to letting solo players tackle some of the challenging content in the game, it will also allow some players who want to use them as practice mode to also start learning some of the mechanics. If you're someone who plays a support class, for instance, there are special effects, including Scale of Fate, to make sure all classes can complete the content in this new mode. With the arrival of solo mode, it will replace the previously introduced special difficulties for certain Legion raids.
Solo mode support will start with the Valtan Legion Raid through the Ivory Tower Abyssal Dungeon. Later, “ Kayangel, Akkan, and Ivory Tower of Chaos will release with a slight, western-specific balance nerf”. If you choose to complete in solo mode, there will be reduced gold ad rewards, but you will still get some gold and progression materials.
There are also rules, like if you clear the first gate of a raid in solo mode, you can't switch difficulty to try and clear the next gates on hard. Additionally, once you pass a certain item level, if you choose solo mode, you won't be eligible for gold or full progression material rewards.
A new Voldis Event Powerpass will be available through September 25th, letting you bring a character to item level 1520 and into Voldis with it. Super Mokoko Express also returns, with the option to pick one character of IL 1520-1600 to get special progression bonuses. There's also a new rewards event, Extra Endgame Rewards, aimed at helping you prepare for the arrival later in the year of Tier 4, through completing endgame content. These rewards correspond to the item level of the activities you complete, and include Honor Shards, Protection and Obliteration Stones, and Leapstones.
The Maharaka Festival is also coming, with mini games, including a battle to defeat a giant rubber duck, competitive racing, and more to earn Mokoko Pirate Tokens to exchange for loot.
The full announcement features all the specifics on solo mode, rewards, and more to expect in tomorrow’s update.
