Loric Games, a studio founded by former Mythic Entertainment and BioWare devs, has just signed a publishing deal with Snail Games for its airship survival RPG, Echoes of Elysium.
The game is Loric’s first title, and blends open world exploration, RPG mechanics, Co-op gameplay, survival game mechanics, crafting, and a dash of co-op gameplay. The procedurally generated world is full of possibilities and you find yourself in a world where you get to design and customize airships that will be both your home base and your transportation.
This premise is built for exploration, in addition to gathering resources, discovering new places, new resources, recipes, and more. As you travel and explore the world, make new discoveries, and chart your own course, you’ll also begin to uncover secrets of what happened to this world and more of that history.
You’re guided by the Goddess Lethe, who introduces you to Elysium and helps you to uncover those secrets and stories. The world had been brought to fall by the villain Heron. You’ll have to chart a course to find and defeat him. If you can. Before you do any of that, you'll have to build your character and your ship. There are three character archetypes to choose from, lots of skills, and a modification system.
Not only do you get to design and build your airship, continuing to customize it over the course of your adventures, the co-op gameplay extends to the ship itself. You can go it alone or up to six players can man different stations on the ship to explore the world, get into combat, collect resources, and make new discoveries together. Maybe you're steering, another friend is fighting back when you're under attack, maybe someone else will gather resources and create things.
Adventure throughout the skies, discover a series of floating islands within the world and Ethereal rivers. As you travel you'll make new discoveries, learn how to craft tools, weapons, armor, and more that you need to survive the dangers out there. They could be creatures, machines, and yes, gods.
Echoes of Elysium is set for an Early Access as the next phase of development. Loric is planning on public feedback votes, transparent development with frequent roadmap updates, live devstreams with highlights and information in order to help the community contribute to the final game.
Snail Games has another survival RPG in the works, For The Stars, so this partnership makes sense.
