IfSunSets, a new game from Polymorph and published by Smilegate (known for Lost Ark), has officially entered early access. Released November 4th, players can experience the mysterious world of Luminora.
Set on the enigmatic cursed island of Luminora, IfSunSets brings players into a world of darkness and horrors unknown. Once home to an advanced civilization, the island now lies under a dark curse and you, as a wanderer washed ashore by a kraken's fury, must unravel the mysteries of Luminora and find a way to escape ithe darkness.
During the day, IfSunSets focuses on exploration and uncovering the secrets of the ancient civilization from long past. As you navigate the landscape, you'll be tasked with sealing away restless spirits, meeting fairies, and defeating the cursed monsters and ancient bosses scattered throughout the world. As you explore, the island’s history and nature will slowly begin to reveal themselves, outlining a more lore-based story structure.
But as the sun sets, IfSunSets shifts gears. The peaceful island transforms into a nightmarish hellscape, crawling with undead baddies. You'll defend yourself using action combat mechanics and survival strategy which includes setting traps, gathering resources, and creating a safe space to survive the dark. The choices you make and how well you prepare during the day can be the difference between enduring until dawn or succumbing to the terror of night.
For those drawn to survival adventure with a twist, IfSunSets intends to offer both freedom and challenge where there’s always something demanding your attention in game depending on whether it's day or night.
Currently, the game sits at a mixed review score on Steam, but if you're on the fence, Polymorph will allow you to dive into the free prologue if you want to give the game a try yourself. The game will be in Early Access for about a year according to the team and the full game can be picked up now at a discounted price of $17.99 on Steam until November 18th.
