A release date and gameplay have been shown off for Slitterhead, the newest game by Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama with his independent Japanese game studio.
The trailer shows our "protagonist," who at first appears to be a cop in a major Chinese city, taking on an investigation in the city. However, it turns out we're not tied down to one single protagonist, with a sort of body-swapping mechanism between characters available. We're even able to body-hop in the midst of combat, letting us traverse complex landscapes and tap into diferent abilities... even with a dog, perhaps?
Slitterhead is both atmospheric and action-packed, with frightening monstorous parasites to take on, emerging from others' bodies as our protagonst does as well. We wield both physical transformations and magics of sorts in order to end these body horror.
Slitterhead releases November 8th, 2024, on Xbox Series X and S, PS4, PS5, and PC by way of Steam and the Epic Games Store.
