Sky: Children of the Light’s Season of the Blue Bird may be its most emotional yet. Inspired by a play, The Blue Bird, by Maurice Maeterlinck, in the new season, a child who is enveloped in a heavy and quiet sadness and no one knows how to make things better. Then, a grandparent remembers a story about a blue bird, which legend says knows how to heal sorrows.
This is where the heart of the season will lead us. Indeed, you'll have to journey alongside the family of Spirits, each of whom remembers having seen the bird before in their own times of sadness. Each of these encounters will take players to different meaningful places and experiences and will learn a little more about the family. Ultimately, the season is about understanding the sorrow and pain others may carry. In Sky, there is much emphasis on connection, encouragement, sharing, creation, and joy, and this season looks to remind us of hope, and beyond.
“Each step of this journey is an invitation—to look closer, to listen deeper, and to discover that perhaps, the greatest treasures are the ones we least expect,” the new season announcement says. Spending time on the seasonal quests lets you learn new expressions from the Spirits and even some new items.
Season of the Blue Bird runs from April 21st through July 6th.
