Skull and Bones Season 3 is coming on August 22nd (the same day the game lands on Steam), with the PTS test build preload open for those with access. However, there's a disappointing update regarding 5v5 PvP.
The Season 3 PTS is now open for preload and the actual test will start on August 16th at 10:00 p.m. Eastern/7:00 p.m. Pacific. The test will run until August 19th, and will feature some of season 3's content, including a brand new sea monster, Shadowbeast, the Mooncake Regatta event, new Merchant convoys, a new ship, new weapons, and more.
Shadow Beast is the newest frightening sea monster in the form of a huge dragon. Some see it as an omen of coming chaos, and that is a warning. The Indian Ocean is seeing some strange events, and if you think you're ready to seek out this fearsome beast, you'll get a chance in the new season. If you have access to the PTS build, you'll get one earlier.
The Mooncake Regatta is “an assassination disguising itself as a race” according to the official description. from this description alone, it's likely that many want to know what exactly is going on. the moon cakes are a trap. They contain encrypted messages so that the mega corporations don't intercept and read them. There's a trap created to destroy the ships that belong to these megacorporations, and you'll take part in the operation.

There are several new Merchant convoys that could give you some options for new opportunities to increase your profits and maybe even cause a little chaos in your wake. Battle Junk is a new ship on the way, and it's known to be resilient and hold enemy attention to create opportunities for allies. You can upgrade furniture slots, navigation, and more.
There's more that will be in the season 3 update, but there's one that will not. This morning, the team announced that, after testing, the 5v5 PVP mode isn't ready yet. They've gotten a lot of feedback from testing internally and with some of the community and they've decided to postpone the release until they can improve based on the feedback received.
