Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is coming in Q4 of the 2025 fiscal year as revealed in Take-Two Interactive’s latest earnings report. We don’t have an exact release date just yet, but this news means that Civ 7 will arrive sometime before March 31, 2025.
The next title in the Civilization series was unceremoniously announced back in February 2023 with a simple tweet stating that a new Civ game was in development. At the time, we didn’t know if this would be a new entry in the mainline series or a spinoff like the sci fi Civilization: Beyond Earth released in 2014. This news followed shortly after a shakeup at Civ and XCOM developer Firaxis.
Firaxis officially confirmed that the next Civ title in development was in fact Civ 7 at this year’s Summer Games Fest, announcing the title with a teaser cinematic trailer.
Players will get their first look at the game in action at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on August 20. A deep dive into gameplay will be showcased the following day at The Future Games Show on August 21.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII arrives on PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2025.
