The Ship of Heroes team has published a new developer blog to let the fan community know that the game engine has been updated to include the Low Level of Detail feature. This will allow the dev team to focus more on content creation rather than having to hand-create low detail models. The new engine provides a tool to generate LOD variations for static images.
Creating LODs manually can take a lot of time, so having the capability to automate the generation of multiple LODs for static meshes speeds up development. There are many buildings in Apotheosis City, and there are many other objects throughout the game on which LODs can be used to improve the overall performance.
