Heroic Games has published an update on Ship of Heroes’ progress when it comes to polishing the visual FX of the superhero MMORPG’s various powersets to improve consistency. The update also showcases ongoing work on animation upgrades the team is making.
A number of quality of life improvements have been made as well, including changes to superspeed, item drop notifications, and various changes to power display UI windows. The superspeed changes include a toggle for the previously added speed lines that were causing motion sickness in some players.
Small tweaks were made to the targeting decals for area of effect powers to indicate when they are ready for use. When the power is on cooldown the decal will have black and white stripes and then switch to red when it’s ready to be fired off.
Another addition is the ability for players in a group to hear the voice lines of mission contact NPCs even if they aren’t the team leader simply by standing near the NPC. All of the dialogue, including what the team leader says to the NPCs, will also be available in the chat log to read through at the players’ own pace.
