It’s almost time to take on instances with members of the other faction, complete new quests for Blood Elf and Dark Iron Dwarves, and tackle a new PvP arena in World of Warcraft.. Update 9.2.5 will be out on May 31st.

Ever since Blizzard announced that players would be able to team up and take on instances in mixed-faction groups, they’ve taken to giving more details about just what you can expect and how it will work. Effectively, if you belong to a cross-faction community or are friends with someone via BattleTag or Real ID, you can invite someone in the other faction to your party. You can also join premades in the Group Finder, which will now be open to both factions, though a group leader can choose to restrict listings to a single faction. Guilds will continue to be single-faction, but communities can now be specifically cross-faction.

The new PvP arena, Enigma Chronicle, is finally going to be ready after playtesting and refinement based on PTR feedback. Originally set to feature a mechanic involving a movable pillar configuration, the final mode will have one configuration. The original concept was causing some issues with pathing and line of sight. We now know that the final version will be out in a few days for those looking for a new PvP challenge.

The update also adds new quests to help Blood Elves and Dark Iron Dwarves to earn some rewards. Completing these questlines could net Blood Elves the Elusive Emerald Hawkstrider mount. Dark Iron Dwarves can earn a Grimhowl’s Face Axe mount. There are also some additional gear rewards too.

While Dragonflight is coming, Shadowlands still has some time to shine. Season 4 is coming, and while it won’t be with this update’s arrival or soon after, it will come “later this summer”.
