World of Warcraft players are no strangers to world firsts, so it's not shocking that just mere hours after the latest expansion, Shadowlands, launched we already witnessed one take place. Just three hours into the launch, Monkeylool of EU-Al'akir became the first player to reach level 60.
First reported by WoWHead, the outlet confirmed the achievement occurred using Blizzard's Armory, as well as through a tweet by Method. Monkeylool's guildmates even streamed their celebration of the achievement and shared some insight as to how they cracked the world first in Shadowlands.
According to Rixers, a guildmate of Monkeylool, they repeatedly ran the Necrotic Wake dungeon in Bastion, as well as some quests interspersed in there. The team could run the dungeon in teams of 3, speeding through the Bastion dungeon in 5 to 6 minutes.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands launched yesterday, taking players to the afterlife chasing after Sylvanas, the Banshee Queen after she tore the veil between worlds. It's not been a smooth launch, with the usual log in issues players have come to expect from MMO launches. We'll have the first of our review coverage trickling out soon as Robin is busy exploring the Shadowlands.
