Second Dinner’s latest over the air balance patch for Marvel Snap takes a little bit of the wind out of the meta’s ubiquitous Arishem decks, gives Viper some new options, and may have brought back the viability of the Mad Titan Thanos himself.
On the Arishem front, Second Dinner removed Blob’s Ongoing ability that made it unable to be moved. This effect was having an odd interaction with cards like Rogue and Mystique who can steal (or copy) Ongoing effects by also granting those cards the Blob’s On Reveal effect, effectively allowing Arishem players to have multiple Blobs on the board.
Mockingbird also received a bit of a nerf, bringing her from a 5/9 to a 6/10. Arishem decks have had an easy time placing her on the board, so the change to 6 cost will require an additional card on the board to bring her down to 0. The 10 power has also placed Mockingbird into Shang Chi range, making her a bit less attractive of an option on two fronts.
Viper will now flip the lowest Power card on her side to the enemy’s side, removing the random factor. This options up new options, like being able to consistently toss an opposing player’s Widow’s Kiss back to them.
Lastly, Lockjaw’s one trigger per turn nerf has been reverted, which may bring Thanos back into the meta.
