Marvel Snap’s had a bit of a Bloblem as of late. Blob, a card introduced in mid-December of last year has been ubiquitous and oppressive in the meta.
Described as the “strongest card in the game on most metrics” by Second Dinner’s principal game designer Glenn Jones, it’s no surprise that the development team has finally gone after the card in the game’s first OTA update of the new year.
The update, which released yesterday, adjusted Blob from a 6/4 to a 6/0, but it’s not just the power floor change that’s impacted the card. Blob’s text now only allows him to gain “15 or more power” when consuming cards in your deck (he’ll also now stop once he reaches this limit). This gives him a theoretical ceiling of 34 power without shenanigans enabled by other cards.
The new change isn’t intended to kneecap Blob completely out of the meta, he’s still a strong card, but Second Dinner accurately assessed that he was a bit too strong when paired with Thanos decks, which this adjustment should do well to deal with.
There’s plenty more to chew on in the update, including buffs to Dazzler, Dagger, and more. Get all the details at the official Marvel Snap website.
