Sea of Thieves is getting another update today that will bring the second Bilge Rat Adventure into the game. Called "Gunpowder Skeletons", the new content brings the Skeleton Thrones adventure to an end. Skeleton Thrones will remain in the game, but the cosmetic rewards have gone, though the Doubloons earned during the event will remain in a player's wallet.
There are a ton of improvements to the mechanics of gunpowder kegs included in today's update as well. As the devs said, "Vigilance, a loaded gun and your best running shoes are all critical for this explosive Bilge Rats Adventure".
Gunpowder Skeletons Event – Carrying a gunpowder keg, skeletons can now rush towards you, light their fuse and... BOOM, off to the Ferry you go! The Bilge Rats are challenging all brave pirates to defeat them in various ways, some less conventional than others! Keep an ear perked for a burning fuse, and a finger on the trigger... good luck!
Other components of today's update include:
- Megalodon behaviors updated & improved
- skeleton firing accuracy improved
- players can make the crew "unjoinable" even if a session is already in progress
- Bilge Rats UI has been improved
- performance improvements
