Seasonal play in Diablo III is undergoing some significant changes when it rolls out onto live servers on January 15, 2016. Among other things, Blizzard has removed Seasonal Legendaries completely in direct response to player-feedback. As a replacement, players will receive something called "Haedrig's Gift", a bundle of set items given along the way during each season. Over the course of seasonal play, adventurers should be able to attain a full class set that will rotate from season to season.

Additionally, players will have new or updated conquests to work through including several that require players to complete difficult tasks by equipping very few set pieces or without any set items at all. Sprinter / Speed Racer and Avarice / Avaritia are returning to the game as well an an overhauled Years of War / Dynasty.

Lastly, players will be able to earn new cosmetic rewards such as non-combat pets, new portrait frames and a special transmog set.

You can read the full details on the Diablo III site.
